These delicate spiced Potato Puffs are great as a starter, for picnics and my children’s packed lunch. The tangy spicy potato filling and light puff pastry are a match made in heaven!
Potato Puffs

These delicate spicy potato puffs are unbelievably tasty for something so easy to make!
Ingredients
- 4 medium sizes potato, peeled, cubed and boiled
- 1 block of puff pastry (defrosted)
- ¼ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- juice of half a lemon
- a handful of chopped coriander
- beaten egg (optional)
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes, run cold water over them, drain and cool for 10 minutes
- Once cool, chop using a large knife over a chopping board (not a masher)
- Add all of the spices and coriander and mix gently but thoroughly
- Cut the pastry block into 16 squares
- Roll out each cube using a rolling pin trying to preserve the square shape
- Roll out to a thickness of 2-3mm.
- Add the spicy potato to the lower middle of the rolled out square
- Fold over the uncovered part and seal with your finger by pressing down
- Seal the sides with your fingers (press down and then double over the edge slightly)
- Using a sharp knife, grently score the top
- Brush with egg or milk and place in a hot oven for 20-30 mins until golden brown
